Today, no one lives in the two-story brick home at 605 Elm St. in Painesville.
That is soon to change, thanks to a plan to transform the home into a residence for four homeless high school-age boys and two adult houseparents.
The plan, put forward by the Painesville School District, is slated to receive $80,000 in funding from the United Way of Lake County.
Scheduled to open in January, the residence will be called Dworken & Bernstein Coaches Corner.
The name honors a Painesville law firm, and sports coaches in the Painesville public schools who alerted school district administrators to the presence of homeless male students on varsity and junior-varsity teams.
